They are used for 1960-69 high performance engine race car, with bushing:QAL10-3-1.5 on small end, full float pin design, set of 6, with ARP bolts or our Copy ARP2000 bolt: Material: 4340 forged chrome Moly I-beam connecting rods with ARP cap screws/ bolts, rated over 700 HP. Hurricane Corvair Forged Steel Connecting Rods are shot peened and high quality finished.
Why Connecting rods are important components in nearly every internal combustion engine (rotary engines do not use them)? They connect the pistons to the crankshaft, and as such must endure tremendous force during normal engine operation. Due to the high rate of speed engines operate, they also must be very precisely machined and balanced or the engine would literally fly apart! Each rods sets design specifications for the maximum allowable tolerance in weight difference between rods, with high performance engines being much more tightly balanced.
